The writing fell flat for me, but I did enjoy the characters, friendships, and plot of the story.
There were a few confusing things. Like, I didn't understand how Charley could be so disconnected from her supposed "powers".

Charley Underwood is just a bar owner (kind of). When strange things start happening rapidly in her town, like people disappearing or going into a raging murderous frenzy, she's determined to figure out exactly what's going on.
