Clara and Damien are two mostly ordinary people thrown together in a strange set of circumstances. In order to keep humanity safe, they must learn to work together to defeat an evil mentalist who desires to steal power from others...
Funny enough, probably because I've also been reading a book about marriage for a religious book club, the struggles Clara and Damien go through remind me of...marriage. You give and you gain, you grow together, and you're stronger with your partner than alone.
Also, I love Meddy!! You'll have to read to find out who/what this is. 😉

I think there was something about the writing style and pacing that just didn't do it for me. I know I've been complaining a lot about this lately 😅, and I really need to figure out why something doesn't work for me (but apparently does for a lot of other people). The characters' personalities also don't feel that well-developed.
A big incident happens near the end of the book that felt a little rushed to me. I was confused about why it was happening so soon, and it felt like a plot hole (it didn't make logical sense), but oh well.

Spoiler Notes/Questions
- Have they tried to do a three-way bonded pair (I guess it isn't "pair" anymore xD) in the Puddle?
- This Alder guy is kinda sus and annoying...
- Why did Clara and Damien get thrown against Taz so early? They'd barely trained together! You'd think that for a mission so important and dangerous, DUO would bide their time...that threw me off a lot.
